MEXICAN MYTHS & LEGENDS
IN THE WEST OF IRELAND
DIGITAL STREET ART TOUR
The main purpose of this project is to present the demographic changes that Galway has been experiencing for the last decades and how migration can contribute meaningfully to host countries and cities.
Through a series of animations, I introduce some of the most popular Mexican Myths and Legends to the streets of Galway City.
I make strong connections between physical spaces and Mexican iconography to create a reinterpretation of Galway City. The tour is designed to help people explore the city and experience it in a unique way.
Visitors can access the tour via a postcard with embedded QR codes that take them to the animations. Once people are at the landmarks they can compare the physical location with the reinterpretation of the tour.

Behind the Project
This short video shows part of the creative process of the animations in this project, as well as some of the early prototypes.
